UWM Field Shielded From Non-Athletic Events With Event Flooring

Utica, MI - MASTERSHIELD TRAX™ and MASTERSHIELD MAX™ provide maximum event turf protection.

What was once Jimmy John’s Field in Utica, Michigan, is now UWM Field as part of a re-branding and a 10-year naming rights agreement with United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM). With a 4,500-seating capacity and a full-service restaurant, the ballpark is home to four local, small pro baseball league teams – the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers, Eastside Diamond Hoppers, Utica Unicorns, and Wooly Mammoths.

To protect the turf at UWM Field from non-athletic events, 200 sections of MASTERSHIELD TRAX™ was ordered from COVERMASTER® to provide a temporary roadway for forklifts, large trucks, and cranes while 200 sections of MASTERSHIELD MAX™ would seamlessly connect to create a protective surface against high pedestrian traffic, sections of chairs, tent setups, and event staging.

MASTERSHIELD TRAX™ has extremely high, built-in load spread capabilities while MASTERSHIELD MAX™ has an overlapping design and unique interlocking system that reduces surface gaps and potential trip hazards. Six 30 by 70-foot sections of MASTERSHIELD VINYL™, a roll out cover, was also purchased as a special use cover to protect the turf at UWM Field from a wide variety of non-athletic events.
