Ashland, PA - Up to 1,000 schools across the U.S. convert their natural grass fields to synthetic turf each year, leading to an increased demand for turf protection that protect both the artificial turf and its warranty.
In March, North Schuylkill Junior Senior High School in Ashland, Pennsylvania reached out to Covermaster® in search of 10,000 square feet of turf protection mats for their June graduation ceremony. They had planned to hold the event outdoors on the school’s synthetic turf football field, providing for safe distancing between students and guests. They opted for MasterShield Plus™, an artificial turf protector made up of translucent panels that overlap and snap into place. Designed for high volume pedestrian traffic, the rounded lower support walls protect the surface without damaging the turf or leaving much trace once removed.
Easy to install and remove, MasterShield Plus™ artificial turf protection uses a Diamond Plate tread pattern surface that provides slip resistance and makes it difficult for spilled liquids to pass through to the surface below. It’s easily cleaned with a pressure washer after events and can be stored on its original shipping pallets. For additional safety, four-foot transition pieces can be placed along the flooring’s edge to increase accessibility.
MasterShield Plus™ turf protector is a great option for natural turf fields as well, allowing air and moisture to reach the ground through top ventilation holes. Sunlight can pass through the translucent panels to the grass below and natural condensation provides enough water to keep the turf healthy.
