SOONERS FOOTBALL PLAYS ON ENHANCED TURF AT MEMORIAL STADIUM

Norman, OK - EVERGREEN® RADIANT TURF COVERS check all the boxes for improved turf conditions.

The Sooners home opener at the University of Oklahoma (UO) kicked off with several fan experience upgrades this September from pre-game festivities to in-game experiences. Based on the new playing field requirements of Head Coach, Brent Venables, and his staff, the Athletics Department also made turf enhancements to the football field at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

COVERMASTER® had already provided other UO sports with sports surface protection solutions. For Memorial Stadium, the groundskeeper required such benefits as an extended growing season, maximum heat retention, and increased root development. EVERGREEN® RADIANT TURF COVERS checked all the boxes for its industry leading ability to radiate more heat back to the soil, provide up to a 25% increase in heat retention, and produce thicker, greener turf.

The UO Athletics Department ordered five panels of EVERGREEN® RADIANT TURF COVERS from COVERMASTER® to increase the quality and performance of its turf. To reduce the time and manpower to install and remove these growth tarps, they also ordered five TARPMATE AIR™ ROLLERS. Two crew members could now roll and unroll quickly and efficiently in record time. Now, Sooners fans not only have a better fan experience, the Sooners football team has an improved turf to play on.
