Princeton, WV - It made sense for Princeton Senior High School in Princeton, West Virginia, to shift their upcoming graduation ceremony to their football field, in-light of the ongoing pandemic protocols that encourage safe outdoor gatherings.

Though it’s proven to be healthier for crowds to gather outside, large crowds and special equipment can be bad news for both natural and synthetic turf. The Mercer County Board of Education contacted Covermaster® in search of a product that would protect both their new synthetic field and its warranty, and soon discovered the benefits of MasterShield Plus™ turf protection.

The snap-together portable event flooring system is ideal for high volume pedestrian traffic. Easy to install and cost-effective, the overlapping design reduces the chance of liquids reaching the turf below and rounded lower support walls reduces any impression left after portable outdoor flooring are removed.

By mid-May, 2,700 square feet of turf protector was scheduled to arrive for the June event. The order included several edge pieces that fit alongside the temporary event flooring, acting like a miniature transition ramp. At the end of the graduation ceremony, the lightweight and compact tiles can be easily cleaned and stored for the next event.
