Salt Lake City, UT - Turf managers from across North America gathered in Salt Lake, Utah for the 2023 Sports Field Management Association’s Conference & Exhibition. Along with exhibitors like COVERMASTER®, there were also seminars on everything from effective turf protection and management to the latest in equipment and turf products.

There was also a bus tour of sports field facilities in Salt Lake including, America First Field, home of Major League Soccer team Real Salt Lake, and Smith’s Ballpark, home of the Salt Lake Bees MinorLeague Baseball team. Those on the bus tour had the opportunity to see the EVERGREEN® Turf Cover from COVERMASTER® out on the snow covered playing surfaces. Considered the industry standard for field turf protection, EVERGREEN® turf blankets were purchased to protect the natural turf field from the adverse effects of harsh weather conditions and to encourage early turf growth.

As the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, the Bees have been licensed through Major League Baseball’s Player Development Program, which requires high standards in terms of facilities, field turf, and player working conditions. Their license was granted once major renovations, including the natural turf field were completed in the fall of 2022. The Salt Lake Bees chose COVERMASTER® EVERGREEN® Original Turf covers to aid in establishing the new turf for winter protection, also to ensure an early spring green up. The EVERGREEN® Original fit into their budget, and the groundskeeper Brian Soukup had worked with EVERGREEN® covers in the past.
