RAISING CANE IN BATON ROUGE WITH COVERMASTER® ICEMATE™
Baton Rouge, LA - Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana features an 1800-seat performing arts center, a 200,000 square foot Grand Ballroom and Exhibition Hall, and a 10,000 seat arena. COVERMASTER® was called in by the arena to provide a better solution to covering the ice surface for concerts, trade shows, sporting events, and theatre events. When not used for home games with the Baton Rouge Zydeco hockey team of the Federal Prospects Minor Hockey League, the arena hosts a variety of non-ice events from comedy acts to concerts and more.
It was vital that Raising Cane’s River Center Arena could maintain the arena ice in optimum condition while providing a dry, safe and anti-slip surface for multi-purpose, dry floor events when needed. They chose the COVERMASTER® ICEMATE™ flooring system that’s designed to transform the ice surface into a non-ice surface in under an hour using a crew of 8 to 10. It provides a durable barrier that will withstand high traffic crowds, heavy equipment, and large event staging.
When the arena received their 430 (5' x 8’) ICEMATE™ panels and were ready to install them for the first time, a COVERMASTER® rep and COVERMASTER® head installer were on-site to oversee the process and ensure that everything was properly fitted. Once in place, the ice was now insulated. Moisture could not penetrate from the surface and the ICEMATE™ panels would not stick to the ice. Raising Cane’s River Center Arena now had a solution to better host non-ice events in a quick and efficient manner.
