Multi Sports at Isotopes Park Means Tarping a Baseball Field With the Best

Albuquerque, NM - Playability in Albuquerque, New Mexico is maximized with COVERMASTER® baseball field covers.

Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It’s the home of Minor League Baseball team, the Albuquerque Isotopes, who are a Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. It’s also currently the home of New Mexico United of the United Soccer League (USL). Thomas Gallegos, Head Groundskeeper for the Albuquerque Isotopes notes “With multiple sports being played on our field, it’s crucial that we are able to host every game as scheduled.”

Gallegos relies on COVERMASTER® baseball field tarps to maintain playable conditions during challenging weather. “Keeping our mound, home plate, and bullpen areas covered daily is essential to maximizing both playability and moisture efficiency. I know I can rely on our current field tarps from COVERMASTER® to withstand tough conditions and keep our playing surface in top shape.”

As soon as the final match of the soccer season was completed this fall, Gallego and his team started a field renovation project. “Our plan includes removing and replacing the infield and sideline turf areas along with 140 tons of infield mix. In addition to re-sodding the infield, we’ll be making a small adjustment at home plate that will require a new home plate tarp.” With that reconfiguration, Gallegos didn’t hesitate to protect the plate by ordering the dependability and performance of a COVERMASTER® baseball field tarp.
