LEXINGTON SPORTING CLUB’S TURF RECEIVES THE PREMIUM RESULTS OF EVERGREEN®

Lexington, KY - Turf Manager’s Experience with Turf Growth Covers Ranks EVERGREEN® as Premium Choice.

In 2021, the United Soccer League (USL) welcomed an expansion team into USL League One in Lexington, Kentucky, the “Horse Capital of the World”. Competing in the Western Conference, the Lexington Sporting Club started with a men’s pro soccer team and a youth soccer organization. In 2024 a women’s pro soccer team was added into the USL Super League. It also includes teams in the United Premier Soccer League (men's amateur), USL W League (women's pre-professional), and USL Academy (boys developmental).

In September of 2024, the soccer specific 7,500-seat Lexington SC Stadium was opened for the club’s professional teams. Well prior to opening, the Lexington Sporting Club’s turf manager ordered EVERGREEN® PREMIUM TURF COVERS from COVERMASTER® to ensure that the soccer pitch met league standards. He knew from previous experience that EVERGREEN® turf growth blankets would increase root development and shield the turf against a wide range of adverse growing conditions.

COVERMASTER® delivered 11,000 square-feet of EVERGREEN® PREMIUM TURF COVERS which were custom-sized in five panels. Five 95-foot TARPMATE AIR™ ROLLERS were also ordered to eliminate any folding/unfolding and allow just two crew members to handle turf blanket installation and removal. The turf manager could now extend the turf growing season, realize earlier turf green-ups, and produce thicker turf with better color.
