Alberta, Canada - Located about 300 kilometres (186 miles) northeast of Edmonton, Alberta, Cold Lake supports a healthy community by offering sports and recreational programs, special events, and wellness classes at the Cold Lake Energy Centre.

The new, state-of-the-art facility was designed to host everything from trade shows to music concerts, and that became even easier in early September with the arrival of an ICEMATE™ ice rink cover. Supervised by the COVERMASTER® team, city staff installed more than 400 5x8-foot sheets that were custom-fitted to the corners of the ice rink, transforming it into a multi-purpose venue.

The one-inch-thick ice rink conversion covers provide a durable barrier that protects and insulates the ice during special events. With the help of eight to 10 staff, any arena can be ready for an event in about an hour. Later, the ice rink flooring can be loaded and stored on storage carts for the next trade show or concert.

Investing in ice arena flooring is a simple way to expand facility use and earn additional revenue, ensuring an easy return on the initial investment in just a few years.
