Baton Rouge, LA - Raising Cane’s River Center, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is a multi-use events complex, that caters to everything from the performing arts to sports, concerts, conventions and trade shows. It includes a 2000-seat state-of-the-art performing arts theater, a grand ballroom of over 26,000 square feet, and an exhibition hall that can range from 25,000 to 70,000 square feet of space depending on your needs. When the Baton Rouge Zydeco hockey team made the arena at Raising Cane’s River Center its home in 2023, it was even more vital that the quality of the ice surface was maintained when non-ice events were hosted. A bid was sent out to various companies to find replacement ice covers for the arena and COVERMASTER® won the bid with both its competitive price and its superior ice rink flooring system.

ICEMATE™ was selected, for its durable barrier and proven performance insulating the ice surface while protecting it from non-ice activity. 5 by 8-foot sheets of ICEMATE™ were ordered from COVERMASTER® to cover the arena’s ice surface and a representative of COVERMASTER® was onsite for the first installation of the new ice rink flooring system. With between 8-10 arena staff, ICEMATE™ can be installed in about an hour. Raising Cane’s River Center can continue to host a wide range of non-ice events on the ice surface, while ensuring that the Baton Rouge Zydeco hockey team always have quality ice for their games.
