Monterrey, Mexico - After a 19-year absence, Major League Baseball is heading back to Mexico for a three-game regular season series this year in Monterrey. The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres will face each other May 4-6 at Estadio de Béisbol Monterrey, home to the Sultanes de Monterrey, a Triple-A minor league team in the Mexican League.
Though the Padres first competed in Monterrey in 1996 against the Mets, this year’s event will mark the Dodgers’ inaugural game in Mexico. The games, being hosted by the country’s largest baseball stadium, marks the first of six series to be played in Mexico over the next six seasons.
The eagerly-anticipated event will mean extra work for stadium staff as they ready the venue for the upcoming games. The grounds must meet MLB standards and part of those preparations include the purchase of new baseball field tarps. Raincover Plus infield tarps will be delivered to the Monterrey venue to help prepare the turf and keep it in top shape, along with an order of Wind Weighted infield tarps, a fitted storage cover, and heavy duty Sur-Hold vinyl sandbags.
The popular baseball field tarp has exclusive heat-reflective properties that block the turf from searing heat and sun, keeping it drier, cooler, and healthier. Raincover Plus is resistant to cracks and abrasions, making it one of the most popular choices in baseball field covers worldwide.
