Wichita, KS - Outfitted with new baseball field tarps and accessories, Riverfront Stadium in Wichita, Kansas is ready to kick off the 2021 season by finally welcoming their new Double-A team to the field.

The Wichita Wind Surge, a minor league baseball team in the Texas League, were known as the New Orleans Baby Cakes before being relocated from Louisiana to Kansas. Hoping to offer fans a higher caliber of baseball, the city built a new multi-purpose home stadium for the team in downtown Wichita. Though the pandemic shut down their 2020 season before it started, the players are gearing up for training later this spring.

Getting the turf in game-ready condition will be a priority, made easier with a new 170x170-foot RAINCOVER ULTRA™  infield tarp printed with both the team logo and team sponsor John Deere branding. Though already more than 200 pounds lighter than other available baseball field covers, handles and grommets placed every 10 feet around the perimeter make RAINCOVER ULTRA™  easy to handle and store on a new 30-foot TARPMATE™  field tarp roller with storage cover.

Infield covers are an important part of any turf management program, drawing warmth into the field on colder days and minimizing heat buildup in the summer for cooler, drier turf. Offering 100-percent sunblock, RAINCOVER ULTRA™  baseball infield tarps have the strength and durability to withstand snow, ice, and hundreds of pounds of rainwater.
