Boston, MA - When architect Robert Fatovic designed the new indoor track facility for NB Development Group in Boston, he knew who to suggest for the best choice in gym floor protection.

The TRACK at New Balance is a multi-purpose athletic facility that creates a one-of-a-kind atmosphere for track and field athletes of all ages and levels. One of its crowning glories is its 200-meter hydraulically banked indoor track designed to be the fastest track in the world. Such an innovative sports surface needs an equally impressive system to keep it protected from damage during non-athletic events and that’s why ULTIMA 4000™ gym floor covering got the nod.

COVERMASTER® Ultima 4000 heavyweight gym floor covers have a slip-resistant diamond tread-plate pattern that’s designed for high frequency use. Not only does it put a on pedestrian safety but the dual-sided gym floor protection system guards against damage from heavy traffic events, including tables, chairs, and stage setups.

Just over 30,000 square feet of gym floor covers were on hand for the March opening, along with five ULTIMA SERIES COVERMATE II™ storage racks, two POWERMATE™ winders, and tape with dispensers. The storage racks were outfitted with custom castors to provide additional protection to the track surface. The gym floor covering system was finished off with custom storage covers printed with digital graphics.
