TENNESSEE’S BAYLOR SCHOOL PREPARES SOCCER PITCH FOR FIFA WORLD CUP PRACTICE
Chattanooga, TN - COVERMASTER® ensures world-class turf growth with EVERGREEN® ORIGINAL TURF COVERS.
Founded in 1893, Baylor School is a private, college-prep school located by the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee that offers 28 advanced placement courses, a core curriculum of mathematics, science, English, history, and languages, and Research Scholar programs that include biochemistry and engineering. Heywood Stadium is home to football, track, and lacrosse while the Lower Fields are home to baseball, softball, lacrosse, and soccer.
In 2025 during the FIFA Club World Cup, Baylor School was the practice site for New Zealand’s Auckland City FC. In 2026, Baylor was one of four private schools selected as a base camp for the FIFA World Cup. Prior to announcing this, Baylor contacted COVERMASTER® for 80 thousand square feet of EVERGREEN® ORIGINAL TURF COVERS. Little did COVERMASTER® know that the purchase was made to prepare Baylor’s soccer pitch turf for Spain FC.
First introduced to the market by COVERMASTER® in 1985, EVERGREEN® ORIGINAL TURF COVERS continue to provide faster turf growth and earlier spring green-ups. The greenhouse effect of these grow tarps lengthens the growing season resulting in thicker turf. When Spain FC moved in for FIFA World Cup practices, the Baylor School soccer pitch was ready for top level play thanks to decades of EVERGREEN® ORIGINAL TURF COVER proven performance.
