Del Mar, CA - A quick turnaround from COVERMASTER® helped a Florida-based athletic field construction company quickly get the tools they needed to support new turf at the Surf Cup Sports Park in San Diego, California.

Formerly known as the San Diego Polo Fields, the soccer complex brought in LTG Sports Turf One, a division of The LandTek Group, to build their natural turf fields. Last December, COVERMASTER® shipped close to 200,000 square feet of EVERGREEN® Original turf blankets to the park to help grow and protect the new playing surface.

The turf covers provided expansive coverage of the new soccer pitches, allowing sun, air, and moisture to penetrate the growth covers and reach the surface below. The resulting greenhouse effect encourages growth while offering protection from temperature changes and other adverse growing conditions. Once the turf matures, turf growth blankets can extend the growing season by delaying fall dormancy and creating earlier spring green-ups.
