New Orleans, LA - Creating a safe training space is a priority for the New Orleans Police Department, which is why they reached out to Covermaster® in search of wall padding for their training academy.

Earlier this year, the academy invested in gym wall pads with wood backing and a one-inch lip that allows the safety wall padding to be tacked in place using concrete screws. Six feet in height, two feet wide and two inches thick, the academy’s custom gym wall padding is creating a safer environment for its officers, who participate in rigorous physical fitness and tactical training exercises.

In addition, custom folding mats arrived for installation at the department’s Education and Training division, each 48 x 96 inches in size and over an inch thick. The red gym mats were outfitted with Velcro around the perimeter, allowing them to be connected to create a large protective surface.
