Newtown Square, PA - The Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania is turning their sports field into a special events venue with a little help from some proven turf protection.

The renowned private school for grades pre-kindergarten through 12 offers its students state-of-the-art athletic facilities, which include nine full-size fields with two outfitted with artificial surfaces. The school decided to install a tent over one of those synthetic turf fields, providing additional space for non-athletic events outdoors.

The next step was sourcing turf protection mats to prevent damage to the field. In late October, COVERMASTER® delivered 2,000 square feet of MASTERSHIELD PLUS™ event flooring and close to 200 linear feet of edging to the school for their upcoming events. The portable event flooring is designed for high pedestrian traffic, featuring a Diamond Plate slip-resistant tread design with specially shaped air holes that prevent spilled liquids from reaching the surface below. The temporay flooring is made more accessible by installing edging units along the outside of the panels.

MASTERSHIELD PLUS™ turf protection has rounded support walls, leaving only the slightest mark that can be quickly brushed out once the panels are removed. The surface is easily cleaned with a pressure washer and then stored on pallets until the next event, whether it’s a concert, trade show, dance, or graduation.
