HAMMONS FIELD PROTECTS BASEBALL TURF FROM HARM

Springfield, MO - Hammons Field is located in midtown Springfield, Missouri, not far from Missouri State University. Home of the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, and MSU’s Bears baseball team, Hammons Field features a 7,986-seat stadium and nearly 2,500 general admission seating. It also has an indoor practice facility with batting cages and a mini diamond for practice drills. There’s a separate building containing home team clubhouses, admin offices, and a cardio workout facility.

In 2023, the City of Springfield purchased Hammons Field and began $4 million dollars of stadium improvements. The city also continued to use the stadium for multi-purpose events. Recently, the first ever concert and largest non-baseball event featured country star, Adam Wainwright and opening act, The HillBenders. Of course, that meant the need to protect the baseball turf from potential damage.

30,000-square feet of MASTERSHIELD PLUS™ event floor covering was ordered from COVERMASTER® to provide stadium turf protection from pedestrian traffic and lightweight, static equipment. Made from translucent High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), MASTERSHIELD PLUS™ sheets not only protect the turf, but they also allows sunlight to pass through and feature ventilation holes to accommodate air and moisture. Each sheet overlaps and snaps into place without the need for locks or hinges, making installation a breeze. When it comes to baseball field turf protection, NO ONE COVERS IT BETTER® than COVERMASTER®.
