Louisville, KY - In Louisville, Kentucky, EVERGREEN®  Turf Covers are helping to prepare the city’s soccer-specific stadium for the highly anticipated upcoming season.

Pandemic-permitting, this will be the second season of play for the Louisville City FC after moving from Louisville Slugger Field to the newly built Lynn Family Stadium in 2020. Though this year’s schedule for the United Soccer League team is still up in the air, players and fans alike are ready to get back into the stadium.

The Louisville Slugger Field’s former turf manager was hired by the football club to oversee field management at the new stadium after several seasons of successfully converting the baseball outfield into a soccer pitch for each FC game. The stadium soon acquired 104,000 square feet of turf blankets and five TARPMATE AIR™  Rollers, enough to cover the pitch in five sections and ready the turf for the upcoming season.

EVERGREEN®  Original turf growth blankets create a greenhouse effect by allowing sun, air, and moisture to penetrate the cover and reach the turf below. This helps to encourage earlier spring green ups and delay fall dormancy, leading to a longer growing season and thicker, more vibrant turf. Easily installed and removed, the frost covers also acts as a shield against adverse growing conditions and guards against frost in colder climates.
