EARLY GREEN-UPS KEEP HORNED FROGS HOPPING AT TCU
Fort Worth, TX - Established in 1873, Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas is a private research university with over 12,700 students. Most varsity sports at TCU compete in NCAA Division I athletics, as a member of the Big 12 Conference. Sports include baseball, basketball, football, track and field, cross country, swimming, and golf. TCU’s mascot is known as “Superfrog” and is based on the state’s reptile, the horned frog, which in fact, is actually a lizard!
Over the years, COVERMASTER® has provided a variety of products for TCU athletic facilities. When TCU had the opportunity to purchase new turf covers for their football field at Amon G. Carter Stadium, COVERMASTER® EVERGREEN® Radiant Turf Covers were selected for their proven ability to provide earlier green-ups and a longer growing season. COVERMASTER® was asked to have the new turf covers made, shipped, and delivered in just over two weeks.
A total of 97 thousand square feet of EVERGREEN® Radiant Turf Covers was delivered on time to TCU in five sections. Unlike other turf blankets, a patented lace coating is applied to EVERGREEN® Radiant Turf Covers, to help protect them from sunlight degradation and give them longer durability. To install and remove these turf blankets in minutes, five TARPMATE AIR™ ROLLERS were also delivered. Now, as few as two grounds crew staff can get the job done in record time.
