Corner Ball Park Caps Its Concrete Walls With COVERMASTER® Custom Padding

Detroit, MI - COVERMASTER® Wall Padding for Baseball Fields increases player safety at Detroit PAL field

In 2009, historic Tiger Stadium was demolished but its flag pole still stood proudly in what was once left of dead center field. It wasn’t until 2018 that The Corner Ballpark was developed and spearheaded by the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL). Located at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull Avenues, the Detroit PAL features programs for over 14 thousand youth in a variety of sports including baseball, softball, T-ball, football, soccer, and more.

When Detroit PAL wanted to pad the top of two-foot walls on either side of the ballpark field, they asked the Detroit Tigers what company could do this. They were told to go to COVERMASTER®, a leader in baseball wall padding. COVERMASTER® learned that Detroit PAL didn’t require the sides of their walls padded but rather, they wanted to cap the tops of them to make them safer for those playing on the field.

All COVERMASTER® baseball wall padding and fence padding are custom-made and fitted for a stadium’s needs. In the case of Detroit PAL, 450 U-shaped pads were custom-made in bright yellow for high visibility and specifically designed to cap the top edges of both 2-foot concrete walls at The Corner Ballpark.
