50 CENT FESTIVAL IN SHREVEPORT PROTECTS CELEBRITY BASKEBALL COURT

Shreveport, LA - Multi-use events get double-teamed by COVERMASTER® gym floor carpets.

Last year, in early August, a four-day festival called “Humor & Harmony” was hosted by entertainment mogul, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, in Shreveport, Louisiana. In addition to a concert, comedy show, car show, and many other events, the festival also featured a celebrity basketball game. Venues included the Shreveport Convention Center, the Municipal Auditorium, and Stageworks, a former soundstage.

It was decided that the celebrity basketball game would be played inside Stageworks. That’s where COVERMASTER® came into this project. Circle W Productions was responsible for transforming the area inside Stageworks into a premier basketball venue complete with bleachers. However, once installed, multi non-athletic events would also take place on the high-end basketball surface. To protect the basketball floor, COVERMASTER® was contacted to provide gym floor protection against scratches, dents, and stains.

Nearly 1,000 PLATINUM COVERTILE™ Gym Carpet Tiles were ordered. These heavy-duty fiber carpet tiles with Polyolefin Plus backing would not only protect the gym floor from non-athletic events, they would also provide a highly spill resistant surface and premier sound absorption. For other pedestrian areas around the basketball court, 4,000 square feet of PLATINUM EASYROLL™ Gym Carpet Rolls were also purchased in custom-made, 6-foot-wide rolls. Celebrity Basketball took their game to a whole new level with COVERMASTER® gym floor protection.
