Terrasnap^® Design Concept

Terrasnap^® is one of the “budget” range of proven turf protection systems by Terraplas. It is designed for pedestrian use to protect the turf playing area at Stadiums when they are being used for non-sporting events.  It allows the passage of air and light and each tile overlaps it’s adjacent tiles to prevent rubbish & non-desirable liquids from passing through to the turf – whether natural or artificial.

Terrasnap^® Features

Terrasnap^® was designed based on the proven features and performance of Terraplas^®, Terraflor^® and Terratile^®.  However, it also has some distinct advantages;

Storage - it requires approximately one third the space

Transportation - approximately three times the amount can be carried on a truck, therefore if the system was to be hired to a third party, the transport costs are significantly less

Laying & Lifting - tiles ‘snap’ together quickly and easily without any specialised equipment

Labor - as it is approximately one third the weight, it is less tiring on labor

Overlaps - it overlaps, which is unique in turf coverings, therefore there are no gaps for rubbish & liquids to go through onto the turf

Expansion - it has expansion capacity built into the system, therefore there is no buckling under extreme temperatures

Cleaning - it is much easier and faster to clean due to its smoother top and bottom surfaces

Lifespan -  long lasting

Price - it is approximately 75% less

Versatility - should a stadium that currently has natural turf ever decide to change to artificial turf, uniquely, Terrasnap^® has been designed for protection of both natural and artificial turf, therefore the cover would not need to be changed

Safety

Safety is of paramount importance when large crowds are involved and Terrasnap^® is a very safe turf cover. The solid, totally interlocked floor ensures that there are no tripping hazards, as associated with other systems, and the top surface has an integral non-slip pattern.

Dimensions: 25cm (9.85”) x 50cm (19.7”) x 18 mm (0.71”) snapped together in blocks at the factory and shipped on pallets.

Weight: 6kgs / 13.2 lbs per square meter

Material: High molecular weight, high density, polyethylene with UV stabilizer

Method of Manufacture: Injection molded using a blowing agent, which produces an engineering foam molding with strength enhancing cellular core

Temperature Range: -5^oC to 50^oC (22^oF to 120^oF)

• Loading: Point load 20mm or ¾” square = 30kgs / 66lbs
• Spread load 15cm or 6” square = 3,000kgs / 6,600 lbs

Colors: Translucent natural material, which allows the passage of light, ensuring grass growth – without yellowing.

Cleaning: High pressure cold water spray washer

Life Expectancy: Guaranteed for 1 year but has a realistic life expectancy of 5-10 years

Applications: Pedestrian flooring to cover natural/synthetic turf for all types of special events
