Lewiston, ME - This summer, the City of Lewiston in Maine purchased 5,000 square feet of Covermaster’s Mastershield Lite turf protection, transforming Simard-Payne Park into a concert venue for country music artist Granger Smith on July 19.
The park serves as a popular community space, drawing visitors with its wide range of outdoor activities and paved walkways. The turf protection mats were an investment for the city, allowing staff to turn the park into a multi-purpose venue, while saving the natural grass from damage that can result during special events.
An additional 150 by 50 feet of edging was ordered to transition from the turf protector to the natural surface below, creating a hazard-free experience. The portable event flooring is easy to both install and remove, and can be set up in multiple configurations. Interlocking tiles are pre-assembled into larger panels that are still compact enough to store, and each panel connects to the next using a unique Pivot-LockTM connection system, creating a strong, slip-resistant turf cover that is easy to clean post-event.
