Washington, DC - They say the third time’s the charm and this particularly holds true for the MLB’s Washington Nationals or, more specifically, their field at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
Nationals Park is the first LEED-certified green major professional sports stadium in the U.S. Maintaining the Kentucky bluegrass playing surface means sourcing highly-rated, versatile products, but that proved to be a challenge when it came to baseball field tarps. The Nationals were looking for a lighter weight and more durable field cover. The stadium recently contacted Covermaster® in search of a light yet durable cover solution that could accommodate a branded Skittles logo adhered to it.
An answer was found in the 5-oz. Raincover Ultra™, the industry’s strongest baseball field tarp. The lightweight design offers 100-percent sunblock to keep the turf cool yet is tough enough to hold up to hundreds of pounds of water. Covermaster® arranged with a graphics manufacturer to have the logo installed on the field tarp in time for opening day in late March.
At more than 200 pounds lighter than other available field covers, Raincover Ultra™ not only stands up to rain, snow, and ice, but easier handling means additional savings in both time and labor.
