Dunedin, FL - Recent renovations at the Toronto Blue Jays’ spring training facility in Dunedin, Florida prompted a purchase last year for several new Raincover Ultra™ baseball field tarps.
One infield cover made its way to the main stadium at TD Ballpark where fans gather each spring to watch the Jays prepare for a new season. The renovation, expected to expand the stadium’s capacity from 5,500 to 8,500 seats, also included a new boardwalk around the outfield, a BBQ tent, an air-conditioned bar along the third baseline, and an outdoor bar near right field. At the nearby practice fields, three additional 160x160-foot Raincover Ultra™ baseball infield tarps will keep the turf cool, dry, and protected from spring storms.
Raincover Ultra™’s industry-leading technology makes it strong enough to withstand hundreds of pounds of water without requiring the unnecessary extra fabric weight like other covers. In fact, the easy-to-handle infield tarp is more than 200 pounds lighter than other available field covers, saving time and labor costs with each installation and removal.
Covermaster®’s exclusive Shield-Tek coating provides 100-percent sunblock, reducing heat build-up and protecting the natural turf below. For colder climates, the two-sided infield protector can be reversed to draw heat into the field.
