Lakeland, FL - It’s been called the Grapefruit League’s crown jewel. The Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida — and best known as the spring training facility for the Detroit Tigers — recently underwent a $40-million-plus renovation, transforming it into a first-class facility for players and fans alike.
The space is shared with minor league baseball’s Lakeland Flying Tigers, who also benefit from a new clubhouse, locker room, and state-of-the-art weight room. The facility maintains sports practice fields, one replaced with artificial turf and the other three remaining natural.
Among the new additions was a Raincover Plus baseball field tarp supplied by Covermaster. The 170- by 170-foot baseball field cover arrived in time for the 2017 spring training season, along with a TarpMate roller and fitted storage cover. The top-of-the-line infield tarp is the most popular Raincover model, designed to keep turf cooler and drier thanks to its exclusive coating technology and heat-reflective properties.
The lightweight infield cover offers 100-percent sunblock and is made to resist flex cracks and abrasion. Reinforced handles and grommets, superior strength, and high-quality fabric create a product designed to last.
