Portland, OR, USA -
Portland Timbers and their beautifully designed seat covers splash big, in the rain-drenched 2011 MLS home opener.
With a ton of hype and huge expectations on the line, the Portland Timbers were set to play the tough opposition of Chicago Fire on a rain drenched evening at Jeld-Wen Field. Fans had lined up in the rain celebrating and cheering many hours before the game, creating a rowdy atmosphere for the Timber's first home game as a MLS team. The event was electric with firework displays and special presentation ceremonies entertaining a sold out crowd of close to 20,000. The Timbers Army of support showed an overwhelming enthusiasm and even had a sizable overflow crowd watching from home.
The match proved to be very exciting and the constant rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of the crowd. The recently refurbished stadium looked fantastic and was completely adorned with beautiful graphics and full displays. Covermaster's played an integral role in this spectacle by providing custom made seat covers
in top tier sections of the stadium. The seat covers helped to showcase Portland's new format of branding and team logo while also controlling excess seating and the overall intimacy of the grounds. The environment closely resembled a European soccer match and provided the basis for a memorable evening. It was truly a gala opener with the home team defending their grounds, rolling past Chicago Fire 4-2.
