Manhattan, NY - A new shipment of temporary flooring will allow a central New York school to space out students when they return to the classroom this fall.
Stephen Gaynor School in Manhattan was expecting to receive 3,400 square feet of MasterShield Plus™ event flooring by late August, enough to cover a portion of the school’s synthetic turf field. The portable outdoor flooring will allow the independent private school to set up classroom space outside, creating the extra distance between students recommended as part of COVID-19 precautions.
MasterShield Plus™ is an interlocking event flooring system that pins together translucent tiles to protect both natural and synthetic turf from high volume pedestrian traffic. The raised slip-resistant tread design elevates air holes from the surface of the portable walkway, reducing the chance of liquids spilling through to the turf below. The surface is easily cleaned with a pressure washer and leaves little to no impression on the turf once removed.
The school’s facility manager also ordered about 40 linear feet of transition strips that create a gradual slope from the stadium flooring to the field. Lightweight and compact, the outdoor event flooring is simple to transport and store, and also has a modular expansion panel that prevents buckling or warping caused by temperature fluctuations.
