Decorah, IA - The Legacy Field at Carlson Stadium in Decorah, Iowa is a dazzling sight — grass green sidelines surround a royal blue synthetic turf football field with brilliant white lines. A paler blue track encircles the artificial turf field, creating a stunning visual maintained by the facilities services team at Luther College.
This spring, a plan to hold graduation ceremonies outdoors on the stadium football field meant investing in turf protection. Covermaster’s MasterShield Plus® turned out to be the temporary event flooring of choice, offering an easy-to-install, cost-effective turf protection system designed to protect the surface from liquid spills that could lead to warranty-voiding damage. The white interlocking panels fit perfectly into the school’s color scheme, providing two areas of high-density polyethylene coverage for use under stage equipment, seating areas, and other high traffic areas.
Top ventilation holes make MasterShield Plus® event flooring suitable for both natural and artificial fields. The raised holes allow air to reach the grass below while trapping any liquids on the cover’s surface. After each event, the panels can be simply cleaned with a pressure washer, and put away for storage.
Ivan Hackman, Luther College’s Assistant Director of Facilities Services, is happy with the school’s choice of turf protection. The turf protection mats offer slip resistance, flexible layout options, and a level of protection that’s perfect for non-athletic events.
