Gym Floor Cover Facts
With the greatest
range of Gym Floor Covers, and an unbeatable selection of custom and
standard colors, weights (6 to 32 ounces per square yard), and
anti-slip surfaces, no other company can offer a complete product line
up like Covermaster. Utilizing the knife spread coating process,
Covermaster Gym Floor Covers are the highest quality available in the
market.
The type of manufacturing process, strength of the fabric core and
the range of vinyl coating thicknesses are the main differences between
available covers. One aspect of durability is the thickness of the wear
coating. Further, a higher core fabric tenacity will provide more
resistance to tearing and abuse. At Covermaster, we ensure that all of
our covers are coated equally on both sides with a proper thickness of
coating to allow either side to be used up.
A Gym Floor Cover should meet your requirements for durability,
strength, color choice and general wear and tear. You should consider
two main factors to determine which cover is best for your facility:
the frequency of use and the type of events (please refer to chart
below). For instance, many gymnasiums are used at least once a month
for trade shows, concerts, dances, and other events that may require
furniture, chairs or tables. This would require a cover with a thick,
durable outer wear coating and a high resistance to tearing.
Another consideration may be the cost of the Gym Floor Cover. In
some circumstances, the model of cover may be determined by budget
limitations. Covermaster’s offers the greatest selection of Gym Floor
Cover models, designed with the needs and budgets of all customers in
mind. Sizing and Model Selection
For ease of handling, we recommend a cover that is made in sections
measuring ten feet in width by the length of the floor. For example, a
56' x 100' gymnasium would require a cover manufactured in 6 sections
that are each 10' wide x 100' long. This allows some overlap on each
section.
One Piece Covers Not Practical
The idea of a cover that consists of one or two large sections may
sound appealing, however it is not at all practical. Large sections
could weigh between 175 to 450 lbs. For obvious reasons, you’ll need
more staff to handle a cover of this size.
Also, with larger sections, you have no choice but to fold the cover
for storage. This in turn creates the problem of permanent creases (see
Storage and Handling).
